HOLISTIC COUNSELING
Professional Disclosure
Philosophy & Approach
My approach is holistic and integrative. I believe that the challenges, symptoms, and traumas we experience in life, although difficult, can provide tremendous gifts of self-knowledge, transformation, and healing for those open to working through them.
While holding past events with compassion, my focus is primarily on how those events are showing up in the current moment, and what you want to create moving forward. On this path, I encourage and support your own inner wisdom, providing a safe space where all parts of yourself can feel welcome. I draw from many traditions including dialogue, creative therapies, eastern medical and philosophical approaches to mental health and wellbeing, emerging neuroscience, world wisdom traditions, energy psychology and others depending on your individual needs. My primary tools are internal family systems and somatic, mind-body modalities such as (but not limited to) mindfulness, mind-body movement, and EMDR.
Formal Education & Training
I hold a master’s degree in counseling psychology with an emphasis in depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Major coursework includes:
• Jungian, archetypal, imaginal, and cultural psychology deepened by an awareness of myth, literature, and world religious traditions.
• Individual and group therapy process, psychological assessment, and psychopharmacology.
• Human development & sexuality, domestic violence, child abuse, ethics & the law.
• Child psychology, marriage & family, lifestyle & career, geropsychology, and research.
• I am also a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (Pacific College of Health & Science), and a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Oregon -- which informs my mind-body approach.
Note: If you wish to incorporate Chinese Medicine into your treatment plan, you will need to sign a separate agreement, and a determination will need to be made to see if this addition is appropriate for you at this time and/or if it will need modifications.
Fees & Cancellation Policy
I charge $150 per 50 minute session. I do not bill insurance at this time; however, I can provide a receipt if your insurance accepts out-of-network providers or if you have an HSA or FSA. It is your responsibility to determine if your visits are covered by said entities. I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee sessions for those experiencing financial hardship who do not have access to the aforementioned. Rates for group therapy vary depending on the number of participants and the length of session. Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made beforehand.
This time has been reserved especially for you. As such, 24-hour notice is required for the cancellation or rescheduling of an appointment. If you miss an appointment or cancel with less than 24-hour notice, the first time you will be charged a $50 fee. If you miss your time again, you will be charged the full appointment fee.
